Yes, your rent may increase but only after the agreed rental period has ended. Also, the increased rent can be only up to 20% high as per RERA laws. Moreover, you are entitled to a 90-day notice before your rent goes up.
You can either pay your rent through a single cheque or a series of cheques throughout the year. However, this is subject to the agreement between you and the landlord.
